A healthy mind, body, spirit connection is key to getting the most out of life at any age. As we get older, this connection becomes even more important. Lifelong learning, as older adults are discovering, can strengthen that connection. In some ways, nearly everyone is a lifelong learner. Keeping up with civic events, routinely reading the newspaper or a good book, or working crossword puzzles are all considered informal lifelong learning. For many of our members that is not enough, they tell us they enjoy learning something new. Without the burden of required attendance, reading or tests, learning becomes life enhancing.
Whether you sit in on a lecture, discover how to make the most of your computer, iPhone and iPad; evaluate cinematic classics; learn more about local ethnic communities; try your hand at a new art form; or exercise your memory learning new dance steps, lifelong learning engages your mind, body, and spirit. It provides the social interaction that is often lacking as we age. OLLI@Pacific programs give you the opportunity to make new friends and engage in stimulating discussion with like-minded people.
If you yearn for a learning environment that challenges your mind, expands your spirit and engages your emotions, I invite you to scan our course catalog and make OLLI@Pacific an ingredient of your summer fun.
