Global Involvement
Students from the School of Engineering and Computer Science have volunteered their experience abroad in various ways. Global experience gives the opportunity to learn about cultures and values different from your own.
Ambassador Corps
The Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship was established in Pacific's School of International Studies. The Center's Ambassador Corps Program provides financial support to students wishing to obtain international internships in the field of social entrepreneurship. The School has sent a number of Ambassadors who have completed projects related to teaching, urban infrastructure, water quality, and more in various organizations.

Making a Global Impact on Campus
Roy Lee (Bioengineering 2011), in partnership with Dr. James Eason and the non-profit group Engineering World Health, organized a campus event to assemble kits to help doctors operate in developing countries. The kits are designed to be used to test electrosurgery units which help cauterize surgical incisions. Cauterizing cuts significantly reduces blood-loss and therefore helps the doctors operate and increases chances of success for the patient. Roy was able to muster support from his fellow engineering students, and together they assembled 70 of these units with monies raised by Roy Lee. Soldering for Humanity has continued every year since. In 2012, students assembled $200,000 worth of electrosurgery test units. Read more.
