Learning Objectives

The B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies is designed to help you develop the following:

Ability to understand international issues from interdisciplinary perspectives and to apply these to global and local problems,

Competency in at least a second modern language,

Experience and capability of effectively understanding, living in, and studying and/or working in, another culture,

Ability to think, read, write, and communicate critically and clearly,

Ability to carry out independent as well as group research and other projects,

Ability to understand, evaluate, and apply quantitative and qualitative research methods,

Ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and present information using emerging computer-based technologies and traditional library research,

Ability to evaluate the causes of major historical events and their impact on the contemporary world,

Ability to understand, evaluate, and apply, micro- and macroeconomics, social, and political theory to contemporary international events and issues, and

A clear and critical understanding of your personal objectives, ethical positions, and learning and leadership styles.
