September 30, 2003

For all of you who are unaware of what the Tiger Paw is all about, listen here! The Tiger Paw is the Online Magazine here at University of the Pacific. It is a site where students are able to post their work (poems, essays, art, etc…) and participate in monthly contests. I consider it a place to express oneself.

I have many plans in store for the Tiger Paw for this fall 2003 semester. Not only am I planning on putting out a new issue the third Thursday of each month, but I am planning on taking a whole new angle.

I would be interested to know if any of you communication majors are looking for a part time job because I would love to have you on staff. This semester is going to be a lot of fun and whether or not you are interested in writing for us, there are still openings for photography.

Each third Thursday of each month will be dedicated to a particular theme. I hope to be able to reach all students on many different levels by getting them involved and interested in what’s going on not only around campus, but around Stockton as well.

I would like to encourage all students that if they have any suggestions for me on how to improve the site, then do not hesitate to send me an e-mail.

Since this is my first Tiger Paw release, and because I am being asked to fill some really big shoes of former editor and chief-Jessica Wakefield, I hope that you can be patient with me As it gets later into the semester, I hope to catch the hang of things a little more and to broaden the Tiger Paw all together by adding different archives and various other links.

If you have any questions or concerns or are just interested in writing for the Tiger Paw, then feel free to drop me an e-mail at l_hoover@pacific.edu or drop me a line @ (209) 946-2505.

Until next time, keep dreaming, keep succeeding and discover how to leave your imprint on the campus and the world.
